Our Most Popular Education Programmes
Become a Wildlife Biologist for the day:
This experience offers participants hands-on experience in a variety of ecological survey methods, including small mammal trapping, moth trapping, reptile surveys, pond dipping, invertebrate sampling, and camera trap installation—providing exciting opportunities to observe wildlife up close. Alongside these practical sessions, students will engage in theory-based learning focused on data collection, ecosystem services, and key conservation principles. Additionally, participants will have the chance to build their own bat box, bird box, or bee hotel, and explore the role of natural systems in flood prevention, water filtration, and the broader support of life on Earth.
Nature Detectives Workshop:
This Workshop invites children to step into the shoes of a professional ecologist and uncover the hidden clues wildlife leaves behind. Combining engaging theory with hands-on exploration, this workshop teaches participants how to identify animal footprints, distinguish chewed nuts left by different rodent species, examine owl pellets, and recognise common tree species by their leaves. Children will also learn how to set up and use a camera trap—an essential tool in modern ecology—to observe elusive wildlife without disturbance.
Food Systems and Pollinators Workshop:
This workshop offers an engaging, hands-on introduction to where our food comes from and the vital role biodiversity plays in sustaining it. Through a mix of interactive theory and practical activities—including wildflower planting—children will explore the importance of natural processes, pollinators, and sustainable food systems.
Nature Inspired Crafting Workshops:
Our Nature Crafting Workshops are suitable for all ages and combine creativity with environmental education in a fun, hands-on setting. Participants will learn how to make natural paints and dyes from plants, make spore prints from mushrooms, build bug hotels and/or bird feeders. Alongside the practical activities, the workshop explores the vital role of plants and biodiversity—highlighting how we rely on the natural world for food, building materials, medicines, and more. It's the perfect blend of art, science, and sustainability.
Night safari and Camp Out!:
Learn bushcraft skills alongside learning all about nocturnal wildlife such as bats, moths, owls and hedgehogs. Learn all about echolocation, how to use a bat detector, moth traps and experiment with night vision technology whilst learning about real world applications.
We can also assist with Bioblitz events, wildlife walks, talks, nature related craft sessions
All of our programmes are available for any age group and can be adapted to suit your group’s needs, abilities and budget. Programmes can be carried out on your school/venue grounds or off site as desired.
